exporting/importing weights issue

So maya's exporting/importing tool doesn't seem to work, or maybe I don't know how to use it. I've spent the last hour or 2 searching the internets looking for a solution, but nothing yet. Will keep looking, in a heroic, self-sacrificing never-giving-up kinda way. Cause someone's gotta do it and stuff.

Considering how much time I've spent on this so far, and how I've only painted the weights of my head - it might be easier to repaint, but I won't give up cause this option seems easy
